The BLUE SHOE Run for Prostate Cancer
Run for your father, your husband, your brother, your friend. Run for you! Join The Blue Shoe Run for Prostate Cancer, a 5K run and 1.5-mile family walk. Team up with your family, friends and co-workers to raise money for prostate cancer screening, community education and research efforts on September 25th.
The Blue Shoe Run for Prostate Cancer will include a prostate cancer survivorship tent, education on risk factors and treatments for the disease, free food and drinks, live music, giveaways and more!
A prostate cancer screening will also take place throughout the morning. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer today, but it’s also one of the most treatable forms of cancer when diagnosed at an early stage. African American men and men with a positive family history should begin annual prostate cancer screenings at age 40. All men should begin these screenings at age 50.
